Fiona wanted to work hands on with people in health care and chose dentistry over 20 years ago. She was particularly drawn to Dental Therapy because she was interested in restorative work. Therapy seemed the perfect answer; it provides the perfect mix of interesting and challenging work. Like most of the team, Fiona is versatile, having also qualified as a hygienist, and can perform a range of fillings and extractions. She is a calm, relaxed person and has a natural way of making sure patients feel the same. Fiona gets immense satisfaction in helping adults and children overcome dental anxiety and educating people on the importance of oral health, especially in relation to their overall health and wellbeing.
In her spare time, Fiona loves running, reading, travelling, music, theatre and learning – she enjoys continuing professional development and frequently attends courses and refreshers so that she can deliver the highest standard of up-to-date care. Currently, she is working towards a distance-learning BSc in Health Psychology.
Fiona is married with two boys and one cat – much to the disappointment of her children who desperately want a dog!
